Our nursery building is made for movement and discovery.

What children learn

Your toddler will explore and try something new each day while playing alongside close teachers and other little learners

In this space days are filled with sensory exploration, fine and gross motor activities, art, music and imagination. This is a language-rich environment where building your child’s vocabulary is key. Teacher-child communication is constant and songs and stories are used to improve word knowledge and pronunciation Activities are carefully planned to foster cognitive skills for thinking, reasoning and problem solving while indoor and outdoor group activities provide ongoing opportunities for social, emotional and physical development

A daily schedule helps children establish a routine. This is critical for independence building such as using the potty, self feeding and understanding structure.

Of most importance is our low teacher to student ratio which enables us to provide a high level of teacher interaction with  children. Your child will feel heard, cared for and safe. The playful yet structured learning plan provides your child with the best possible beginning to their academic journeys and instills a love of learning.

Age 3

3 year olds absorb everything! And they’re hungry for knowledge.

What children learn

In this class children continue to build on the prime areas of learning and are introduced to academic foundations through hands-on exploration and activity. Here children work with manipulative materials to develop mathematical thinking and scientific observation.

Group games and individual challenges are used to teach and create excitement for early literacy while communication and confidence are nurtured through daily speeches and weekly presentations.

With the help of their teachers, the 3 year olds work towards extended concentration, goal setting, following instructions and building resilience. Critical thinking and problem solving are fostered through play-based projects and collaboration is learned through group experiences.

A day in the 3 year old class provides plenty of opportunities for decision making, trial and error and unlimited questions.

Age 4

This is a time of huge transformation!.

What children learn

By age 4, our students have built the foundation of academic learning and are ready to take on more structured skill building for literacy, numeracy and writing. Here children go from reading sounds to reading and writing real words while gaining empowerment as they learn to use their numerical understanding for real application. .

Our goal is to help them build communication, critical thinking, collaboration and executive function skills on a higher level.

In this class students are challenged to engage in abstract thinking and explore more complex ideas. They learn to ask open-ended questions and find solutions to problems.

Through routine and daily interactions, they are encouraged to take care and advocate for themselves and to show empathy and responsibility as members of a community.

Our comprehensive curriculum prepares children in the top class for a smooth and confident transition to primary school, making sure they are academically, emotionally and socially ready for the next big step.

What children learn

At this level, students are challenged with more complex, self directed projects, developing advanced critical thinking, research skills and problem solving skills.

Weekly presentations of their independent work teaches children to analyze information, structure their thoughts logically and to speak with confidence.

Mathematics, literacy and writing skills are refined by integrating them into relevant, engaging inquiries and real world applications.

Children are challenged to take on leadership roles in the classroom, collaborate in group tasks, prepare themselves for the school routine and to make good independent decisions.

The Wise Owls group ensures your child leaves for primary school with a strong sense of personal agency and a genuine love for learning.
